Orthodontics
Orthodontics is a dental specialty that diagnoses and treats irregularities of the jaw, face, and bite (malocclusions). Orthodontists complete additional training beyond dental school.
As awareness of fluoride and preventative care grows, more people are seeking orthodontic treatment for both medical and cosmetic reasons. Whether through traditional braces or custom appliances, orthodontics can help you achieve a healthy, straight smile.

What are Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners are a cosmetic alternative to traditional metal braces, gradually straightening teeth with a series of custom-fit, removable aligners. Unlike metal braces, they contain no brackets or wires, making them a more aesthetically pleasing option.
How do clear aligners work?
Clear aligners are created from molds or 3D scans of your teeth. Using specialized software, your dentist plans the necessary tooth movements and designs a series of aligners, each representing a step in your treatment. These aligners apply gentle pressure to gradually shift your teeth into place.
Typically, you’ll change aligners every two weeks, with the total number needed depending on the amount of movement required. For optimal results, it’s recommended to wear the aligners for 20-22 hours a day, removing them only for eating or drinking.
Will my insurance pay for clear aligners?
Many dental insurance plans cover clear aligner treatment similarly to traditional braces. Coverage varies by individual and insurance plan, typically including a percentage or a specific dollar amount.
